The teacher thing IS weird. He jokes a lot, but that wasn’t a joke. Very tellingly, he also told me his ex (of six years, also his first and last girlfriend ever, someone who broke up with him) was a personal trainer.
So, just because I ended it with Ansel doesn’t mean I’m in the clear with Francois, my one and only guy right now. On the contrary, the ground is very shaky indeed, beginning with the day I told Francois I was no longer dating “Number 2.” Francois said, “Oh, really? Too bad.” Too bad, I wondered? “Yes,” he said, “Now I feel bad because I am the only one and maybe it will not work out.”
But I brushed it off like the naive, love-struck girl that I can be and moved on with life. We continued to hang out every day and had an amazing weekend together that involved attending a party at his friend’s place, working on his new sailboat and even waking up together on Sunday morning in the sailboat.
Do you remember how, a few days ago, Francois told me “I think you like me more than I like you“? Well, throughout the weekend, Francois kept dropping similar disclaimer statements:
I don’t think I will fall in love with you.
You are doing this because you love me.
You’d be perfect if you were a sports teacher. [Wait, what?]
